Critical Thinking 101

Well...
What if we had a test for voting rights?
Imagine the inverse. (scary to think this is how it is now)

It's one thing to say, every person should have a say in decisions that affect their lives.
But what about when the issue is simply beyond them?
Where do we draw the line?

There is a misconception happening in the "modern" world where the public believes that the issues at hand in the forum of public debate are those of choice not necessity.
For example, I prefer my beer with great taste, while they prefer it be less filling. The material facts (or most of them) are not in dispute, simply which we prefer.
That this misconception exists is neither a coincidence, nor innocuous.

What is truly being said here, what is at the core of our culture right now is:
This cannot all be true!
Something STINKS!

This is the idealogical fight not of our generation, but of our species.
Manipulation of truth to suit desired result is a practice that, while working to great effect in synthetic abstract systems such as "Politics," and "Economics,"
runs afoul of REALITY.

Frankly put, the ability to substitute fantasy (or our "opinion") for real world truth is a systemic failure that has been the downfall of every empire in history.

(it occurs to me now I don't say this often enough, so..)

All but a few, and more that a few Philosophers, missed the point of "The Matrix,"
entirely.

Please accept this truth now:
"The Universe is REAL!"

If it is stage we act upon it is one with rules,
that do not care for our opinions.
Pretend it isn't at your own peril.

Eg:
Have a reason ($) to "interperate" meteorological facts?
Think the Mideast can be stabilized by force?
In the short term your pundits may shower you with praise,
even for your clever insight-fullness,
but make no mistake,
the Physical Laws of the Universe will not.

We cannot continue to accept a system that favors opinion over fact.

We've been fudging the details and looking the other way at the leaky seams for long enough now, the stakes are eventually going to be our EXISTENCE.

If we cant,
for whatever reason,
well it appears Nature has something handy for that too...

Extinction.

Awake now?
